PHOTO: Caff at Gallt yr Ogof
Continuing my obsession with Mission Impossible:
I may have been in Mallorca for a week climbing sunny limestone, but everyday, as soon as I got in, I checked the weather for Wales. It’s been wet – thank the lord, or I wouldn’t have been able to sleep!
The routes in Mallorca almost felt like a distraction, I think I might be getting obsessed!
This photo is of Caff a couple of years ago on our way up to the crag for the second time. (You can see a topo here). Interestingly, by checking the meta data of the file, I can see that it was the 11th of September 2007, at 09.58 when I took that shot, meaning we both took the day off work (it was a Tuesday) and also we had an 08.30 start!
Tomorrow looks like the only break in the weather all week, so I might make it up there for a quick look to refresh my memory, otherwise I’ll be heading to the Ormes for some sport climbing – we’ll see.
Caff is away this week, and when the Caff is away, the boys will play. I think I had better get on Mission quick, as he clearly needs less time on it than I do for three reasons.
- First, the crux suits him, being a bunched up rock-over.
- Second, the hold after the crux is a thin slot and he has smaller fingers than me.
- Third, he’s better than me! Git.
